What is The Conversationalist? 
We are a platform to help you break open the echo chambers in your life to open up conversations about topics that matter. The Conversationalist Community is a space for any and all to join the conversation about a wide variety of important topics. Whether it’s by sharing your own unique perspective, highlighting the work of others in changing the conversation, or asking questions, this community offers space for you to be heard. We are thrilled to have you join us!

Why do perspectives matter?
Your perspective matters because we are trying to highlight alternative viewpoints around topics that are too often sidelined. By hearing someone else’s point of view, we can have meaningful and nuanced conversations. We encourage to embrace our content with an open mind and a willingness to listen to other points of view. 

Why is authenticity important on this platform?
We want to hear your authentic perspective because The Conversationalist is a platform where all opinions are welcome, free of judgment. If we are all candid about our viewpoints, we give ourselves and each other the best chance to learn and grow from others. 

Who is this platform for? 
Our audience is Gen Z, ie. 16 to 26-year-olds. 

Who is allowed to contribute?
Our audience of Gen-Z-ers that follow us across our social channels and are inspired by our content.

What should I comment? 
Your comments should reflect your authentic perspective on the topic of the week. All comments must abide by community guidelines and standards. All comments should be respectful, relevant, and formed from your own perspectives and experiences. 

Why is there a rating system after each piece of content?
We have implemented a rating system after each piece of content to get your feedback on the content we are putting out. We want to make sure that our content is accomplishing our mission and that our content is what you want to see, read and hear every step of the way. This is why we want you to share your opinions and perspectives on what we publish. 

What should I write if I want be published on The Conversationalist? 
We want to showcase your perspective and hear about your personal experiences with the topics that we cover. Therefore, if you have a personal anecdote or unique perspective on a topic we plan to cover, we want to hear about it! Click here to submit an Op-Ed or personal essay,  

Are we allowed to share The Conversationalist content?
Yes, we would love for you to share our content with friends and family! When you share any of our content (ie. articles, videos or podcast) make sure to appropriately link our website. If you share our content on social media, make sure to tag us @theconversationalist. 

How do I report a comment that offends me? 
If you find any comment that breaks community standards and goes against community guidelines please signal it and email The Conversationalist team at connect@theconversationalist.com

How do I report an article that is inaccurate? 
If you find any information that is inaccurate or is misrepresenting the topic we are presenting, please signal it and email The Conversationalist team at contact@theconversationalist.com

How do I report content that is triggering? 
If you find any comment that is inappropriate or triggering and goes against community guidelines please signal it and email The Conversationalist team at contact@theconversationalist.com

What are the community guidelines?
The Community Guidelines are posted at this page. Please make sure to consult these guidelines before posting a comment or sharing any of our content on your personal social media accounts. 

What will happen if the community guidelines are not respected?
If you are unable to abide by our community standards and guidelines, we will ask you to leave this platform. If this request is denied or rejected, we will have to block you from our platform.

You can start right now by following, commenting on and sharing our content on your personal social media platforms. You can apply to our Ambassador program and you can check out our bi-weekly polls on our Instagram stories every Tuesday and Thursday.

How can I be featured in The Conversationalist video series?
We would love to feature you in our next video series and you can apply by clicking here. Disclaimer: we are NYC based and therefore all filming will take place in New York and unfortunately we are unable to pay for the transportation of any participants. 

How can I be featured as a guest on the podcast?
We love to showcase ambassadors and community members’ points of view on our voicemail platform where your voice could be featured on our weekly podcast! Apply to become an ambassador here and join our community here. If you are an expert for a topic we plan to cover or have a platform dedicated to such a topic, we would love to hear from you as well.
